 The pub has a cosy snug bar in which to enjoy a drink before sampling some of the culinary delights on offer. The cuisine is a blend of European and traditional English. All our meals are made from fresh local produce and the emphasis is on freshly cooked, which may mean a brief wait but as with everything that's good, it's well worth the wait. We also have an extensive steak board selction inside the pub and we were a Finalist of the Best Gastro Pub in Essex 2010 for the Essex Food and Drink Awards.
For ale drinkers please note we have, for 10 years consecutively, been listed in the C.A.M.R.A Real Ale Guide. "Doom Bar" and "Adnams Best" are always available along with a rotating Guest session beer. Premium beers and award winning Real Cider are also always on tap!!
The table settings are delightful and with a wonderful airy conservatory leading out to a spacious en closed garden, you couldn't ask for more.
Food is served between 12.00 (noon) until 2.00pm and 7.00pm until 9.00 Monday to Saturday and 12.00 (noon) until 4.00pm Sunday. On Sundays you can enjoy a traditional Sunday roast with all the family and take advantage of the amenities that the Leather bottle has to offer. We can also cater for wedding receptions and offer an excellent outside catering service.
